The Culture of the Bahamas
RELIGION
More than 65% of the Population is Protestant; meaning Non-Catholic. These Christian Groups include Anglicans, Methodists, Pentecostals, Baptist and Roman Catholics. The Bahamas has no laws over Religion, so people are free to worship and believe anything they want.
HOLIDAYS, FESTIVALS AND EVENTSMost of the Bahamian population is Christian, which means that they celebrate many Christian holidays. These include Easter, Christmas, White Monday, Good Friday and Boxing Day. New Year's is the biggest, it is celebrated through out the all the islands. Other holidays include Labor Day, Emancipation Day and National Day, between others.

LANGUAGE(S)
English is the official language of the Bahamas, although other languages such as Haitian Creole, Spanish, Chinese, Portuguese, Continental French, German, Italian, Hindi, and Tagalog. FoodsMost people in the Bahamas usually eat fish, meat, rice, vegetables and peas. Their two national dishes in conch and sea snail served with rice and peas. The people from the Out Islanders eat mainly just fish, fruits and vegetables due to uneasy access to other foods. They have a lot of ceremonies so their usual foods for these especial occasions is fish or conch, as well served with rice, peas and baked goods. Their drinks include beer, rum, tea, coffee and soft drinks.
SPORTS AND RECREATIONBeaches, gardens, dolphin encounters and museums are good activities for kids in the Bahamas. Some outdoor activities are golf, horse riding and fishing. There is many places for tourists to visit in this country.
